Who we are

The RISID research group is characterised by its high degree of interdisciplinary.

The Principal Investigator (PI), Carola Ricci (associate professor of international law at the University of Pavia) since February 2022, following the previous guidance by Silvia Favalli (senior research fellow of international law), coordinates four main units, namely:

  • the legal unit composed by two sub-groups, the first being composed by experts of international and EU law as well as of human rights law: scientific reference person Carola Ricci with (Silvia Favalli, till February 2022 and) Anna Facchinetti; the second being composed by experts of administrative law: scientific reference person Vittorio Pampanin, with Beatrice Rabai;

  • the unity of sociology of communication: scientific reference person Flavio Ceravolo, with Giulia Melis and Sara Boccaletti;

  • the unity of economics: scientific reference person Francesco Scervini, with Matilde Ceron;

  • the unity of engineering and computer science: scientific reference person Marco Porta, with Mattia Ducci and with the decisive external expertise by Cristian Bernareggi.

During the implementation phase, a fundamental cooperation started with:

  • doctor Luca Casarotti, PhD, end-user and expert of digital accessibility;
  • professor Luisa Erba, expert of history of architecture in the University of Pavia
  • and with the architect Valentina Giacometti, expert of architectural accessibility in the Palazzo Centrale.
